We were so excited to find our butterflies come out of their chrysalis and release them out into the world. We said our goodbyes and our butterflies loved the environment we had made so much they did not want to leave. The butterflies hung out with us on the grass for a long time while we observed them. They landed on our hands, flowers, clothes and sticks. We ended up building a butterfly sanctuary with sticks so that people would walk around them until they got comfortable and flew away. We were sad to see them go, but happy that we got the chance to observe their metamorphosis.

Thank you to our volunteers for making our exciting field trip to Valley View Spray Park possible. The students had an amazing time. The conversations about what we saw on our walk, heard, smelt and felt were so new and exciting. We can't wait to explore again on Monday. Don't forget to pack a lunch as we will be away from 11:45-2:30!
